CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) POLICY

The health and safety of our organic veggie box program members and the communities in which we operate is our top priority. To keep yourself and others healthy amid growing concerns around coronavirus (COVID-19), My Organic School is taking steps to be extra vigilant.

We are ensuring disposable gloves are available at all locations for volunteers to wear while packing the produce. All volunteers will be required to wear the gloves.

All chopping boards and knives will be disinfected after use, and encourage all members to follow these best practices:

  • If you or someone in your household is sick, or has been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home per The Australian Government Health Authority’s guidelines.

We suggest that all produce should be washed before consuming. This is also the advice of the World Health Organisation. It is important to note that The US Food and Drug Administration has said it is not aware of any reports to date “of human illnesses that suggest Covid-19 can be transmitted by food or food packaging”.

If you have traveled to any of the countries identified by the The Australian Government Health Authority as having widespread sustained (ongoing) transmission of COVID-19, please refrain from attending our produce divvies or from picking up your veggie box for 14 days.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Thank you for your assistance in adhering to these important guidelines.

Yours faithfully,

David Walsman
